Women In History: Sandra Day O’Connor

When Sandra Day O'Connor became the first woman on the Supreme Court, I barely noticed anything political. But that day I paid attention to the news! Though she served on the Supreme Court for twenty-five years, Justice O'Connor still thinks of herself as a cowgirl; she doesn't miss an opportunity to talk about her roots on the ranch where "you have to make things work, you have to make things run."

PBS' To The Contrary aired an interview with Justice O'Connor and Cokie Roberts. If you missed it, it's just over six minutes, so take a look: http://video.pbs.org/video/2206371503

Today is Justice O'Connor's birthday - 82 years young! Happy Birthday to an amazing woman.
