Pump Up the Power #7

A smile is a universal sign of happiness, friendliness, acceptance and approval. But that’s not all! A simple, sincere smile can have a huge impact on your overall attitude because smiling is:

  • Healthy. When you smile, your body tends to relax and you release endorphins, both of which boost your immune system.
  • Contagious. People react to your smile. A smile from you often brings a smile from others. That makes both of you feel better.
  • Exercise. You can use up to 53 muscles when you smile – that makes it exercise!
  • Age-defying. Your face has muscle memory and takes on the pattern of your most frequent expressions. When you’re 60-70-80, which expression would you rather have your face remember – the frown, the angry or bitter look, or the smile?

Coco Chanel said, “Nature gives you the face you have at 20. Life shapes the face you have at 30. But at fifty you get the face you deserve.” You deserve the best – so SMILE.
